The opening ceremony of the
Project for Construction of Drinkable Water Supply Facilities in two settlements of Ismayilly region realized on 16th of June. The participants of opening ceremony were Mr. Shusuke Watanabe, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan and Mr. Nizamy Alekperov, Head of Executive Power of Ismayilly region.

November 2009

The group of students of Social Work faculty and their teacher Ahad Kazimov have visited the CD Center. The purpose of the meeting was introduction with Community Development Manual issued by CD Center. The students had interesting discussions with one of the author of the Manual – Mr. Yasin Dadashov. It’s necessary to note that Community Development Manual is using as the education textbook in university. Students and author decided to continue such interesting meetings in the future.

Opening ceremony of new school building #3 in Gakh city constructed with financial support of the Government of Japan.

On July 7 of 2009, the opening ceremony of the school #3 in Gakh city was held. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan H.E Mr. Masamitsu Oki has participated at the event. Among the guests - Mr. Mubariz Ahmadzade – Head of Gakh ExCom, Mr. Mamed Khasiyev – Head of Gakh Education Department, Mrs. Galina Shafiyeva – Principal of Gakh city school #3 and Mr. Sabir Hamidov, representative of the Ministry of Education have attended to the opening ceremony.


Internally Displaced Youth Support Project


The Azerbaijan Community Development Research, Training and Resource Center has been selected as an Administrative NGO for Internally Displaced Youth Support Project. The Japanese Social Development Grant together with the World Bank has awarded the Government of Azerbaijan by the grant to undertake the Internally Displaced Youth Support Project.
The development objective of the project is to enhance the social inclusion of, and promote economic opportunities for, youth IDPs who have spent most of their lives suffering from the effects of war. The project will stimulate the participation of young people in the economic and social life of their communities by enhancing opportunities for social interaction among young people and by supporting young entrepreneurs in developing their businesses.

In November 2008, the CD Center's delegation made an experience-sharing visit to Toronto Community Foundation and attended to Canadian Community Foundation Conference 2008 in Monreal.
Close familiarization with Canadian CFs by attending TCF and CFC 2008 enabled Azery delegation not only to refresh the existing knowledge about CF concept, but also to explore new areas for immediate incorporation into its plan of actions. This mainly includes, but not limited to involvement of youth in CF movement and leadership role of CFs in donor-service about community foundations.

CD Center jointly with Youth Democratic Reformers organized the meeting between the students of school #43 with the Minister of Ecology devoted to results of the project "E-government for children" aimed to introduce youth with mechanism of electron government, the electron sign, electron document and especially formation the electron commerce through the IT tools and funded by World Bank and Ministry of Communication and Information Technoilogies within Small Grants Program 2007-2008.

On 25th December 2007, at 11:00, the Contract Signing Ceremony between Japan Government and ACDRTRC for implementation of the project on construction of the new school building in New Khodjavend village of Khodjavend region within the frame of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) has been held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan Community Development Research, Training and Resource Center has been invited to participate on the study session "Take an ACT!ion for Human Trafficking Prevention" held in Budapest, Hungary on 18th November - 25th November 2007 funded by Minority of Europe and Council of Europe. This study session sought to look into ways to contribute to prevention of youth trafficking, in particular of minority youth trafficking by human rights education and other instruments, and to devise strategies and initiatives to support the development of actions for prevention of youth trafficking across Europe. The Study session has brought together 35 participants from 23 countries.
September 23

In September 23, 2007 the ACDRTRC has succesfully dispensed the humanitarian aid for 500 IDP families in Gabala region. The aid was rendered by Lutheran World Relief organization. The program officer Trevor Knobic, representative of UNCHR in Azerbaijan Nijat Karimov and Gabala ExCom officials has been attended to the event

Dental Service Project

On April, 2007 after the contract signing ceremony between Norwegian Refugee Council and CD Center the administration of the Dental Service Project in Azerbaijan originally created and funded by NRC, Norwegian Embassy and ISR Plaza has been handed over to the CD Center.
The project covers 3 main areas: Shusha clinic, Yasamal and Khatai districts. The clinics provide the dental service for IDPs children which satisfies the requirements of sanitary and hygiene standard, and improve the quality and the extend of the dental service for the people in question.
After discussions with IRC (International Rescue Committee) it is been decided to involve the international refugee children to the Dental Service Project.

On 22nd January 2007 at 12:00 noon, the three ceremonial events of Japan's Official Development Assistance (ODA) to Azerbaijan were held at the Residence of the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event is follow up to Contract Signing ceremony, held in November 2006, between Japan Government and national NGOs for implementation of the projects within the frame of Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) of Japan.

November 2006

Competitive bid on Small Grants Program on Improvement of Civil Society, financed by World Bank and administrated by CD Center has finished.
Total of 71 organizations have applied for the tender and submitted proposals. The Selection Committee, on a step-by-step basis, has awarded 7 local NGOs as finalists of the competition.

For this purpose, on November 1, 2006, in WB’s Resource Center located at State Economic University, Contract Signing Ceremony with participation of WB, CD Center, Local NGOs and media representatives was held. Mr. Gregory T. Jedrzejczak, Country Manager of World Bank/Azerbaijan had congratulated the winners and wished them success in their valuable work. The event finished by signing the contracts between winning NGOs and CD Center.
October 2006. Quests at Uludash School

Many quests have participated on the opening ceremony of the Uludash secondary school held on October 3, 2006. Among these quests were representatives of Norwegian STATOIL Oil company. Approximately 10 quests from the company have brought special gifts to the schoolchildren and congratulated them with opening of new study year and school. The quests also have introduced themselves, talked with children and asked about their study. The event has interested children and created good spirit.
We would like to mention that quests from STATOIL have been invited by representatives of Norwegian Humanitarian Enterprise. All inventories for school have been provided by NHE. NHE plans to implement more projects in this school

On October 3rd of 2006, the opening ceremony of the school of Uludash was held. More than 800 people representing Qabala people, schoolchildren and honorable quests have participated in this exiting and valuable event. Among the guests - Deputy Head of the Mission Counselor at Embassy of Japan, Mr. Hideomi Nakajima; Economic Cooperation Assistant at Embassy of Japan, Ms. Leyla Hacıyeva; and representatives of Qabala Executive Committee, Deputy Head of Ministry of Education, Mr. Elmar Qasimov, Country Director of Norwegian Humanitarian Enterprise (NHE), Mr. Terje Holmedal, and delegation from STATOIL’s Norwegian office have attended.
While the construction of the school has been fully sponsored by Embassy of Japan, the stationary and equipment for classrooms has been provided by NRC.
